Is it still possible to purchase a set of metwrench tools? The ads are no longer run on the television as far as I know and I can't find them online or in any of the local stores I've tried so far. Are they still made or has any other brand come out with a similar copy cat version that's as good?

I bought mine at a Sears hardware store. Last time I was there was about a year ago and they still sold them. They are great and have gotten me out of alot of problems.

You can still find the Metrinch on line by going to Google and searching for Metrinch. I have a Metrinch set and I disagree about the rounding off bolts and nuts because the contact is on the flat part of the hex instead of the points. My biggest gripe is that the slack or play in the socket because it does contact the flat is bothersome when working in tight places. I use mine in the junkyards since I don't have to carry a lot of tools to remove parts for old cars and trucks. A full set of tools is certainly the best but you just can't carry a full set of tools in the junkyard or out in the fields with a mix of metric and SAE on the new equipment.

Surely somebody is selling them somewhere, as bad ideas don't go away that easy. They may be okay for the home handyman, or maybe a lawnmower. I wouldn't touch a tractor or car with one on a bet. I use tools that fit, either standard, or metric. Using a shortcut like these tools, is asking for trouble in rounded off boltheads, ruined copper fitting,busted knuckles and the like. I use tools all the time in the shop, and if its metric, go get a metric wrench, if its standard, open the other drawer and use a standard/sae wrench. Just my feelings on it. John in Nebr.
