wood trailer

HI all.
I just build a wood box trailer it's 4'x4'x8' will be using it as a camping and hunting trailer to keep things in and ready to go.

what I am need is something to put on top of trailer's wood to keep it last long, something like paint with harder in it? or tin? I looked around meards for something to put on wood. am just thinking right now.

what's all your in put to keep wood last long? trailer wont be sitting outside alot notless we go camping or hunting.

the wood is 3/8 sand pine bord.

another option other than paint is galvanized sheeting....

go to a tin shop and have them bend the pieces with a lip around the edges, especially for the roof.. you could screw or glue it on and you have a weather proof trailer... wouldn't add that much weight... we used it on a 4x4x6 scout camping equipment trailer and it outlasted the trailer frame..

Steve;
A neighbor restored and refinished an old horse-drawn wagon with this material. He claims it's the best stuff available.
