Any thoughts on how to charge up the batteries on an 18V Black and Decker cordless drill I picked up in a yard sale? The dummies running the sale sold the charger by itself to someone else!

I have a Craftsman 19.2, but it's charger uses four terminals to charge up the bateries, unlike this which has only two. THe battery looks a lot like my Dewalt 14V, but of course it won't fit into its charger. I'd like to charge the batteries up to see if they are any good before I go and patronize the local B and D store. (I went there a few days ago after driving 8 hours and the guy turned off the lights and locked the door in my face when he saw me get out of the truck! RRGH!It was only 4 minutes before the officiasl closing time but geeeze!~?)

The charger that came with my B&D 18 volt Firestorm (old-style batteries) went bad after about 3 years. I went to the service place in Indy and got a much better one than the original ever was. Don't be trying to jam B&D batteries into a Dewalt drill or charger. They are similar, but not the same. They can get stuck in there.

Wal-Mart carries the B&D charger. My brother recently purchased a kit that came with the radio/charger (slow charge) and picked up the fast charger at the local Wally World. If memory serves me correctly it would actually do a couple different voltages of the B&D batteries. It was about $30.00.

The walmarts around here all carry the charger for the new slide on battery packs, but nothing to fit the old style pop in the bottom of the handle pack like this one has.

If I could get away with it I'm tempted to make up a pair of jumpers from my 14 V charger to the battery.. All I want to see is if the drill and batteries are any good b4 I buy a correct unit. And nobody I know has this type of battery in their drill, so I can't just borrow one for now.
