I'm trying to take the door panel off a 93 pontiac grand prix.I've got the panel all loose but I can't get the window crank off.Looks like it should be easy but I can't get it off. What's the trick?

Another slick trick on that retainer clip is to use a shop towel. Push the door panel in and WIPE it around between the handle and door panel and peel the retainer off. Be careful because the are springy and can go flying. Most all auto stores have new ones as well as new handles. LOL

If it is like most GM door handles/window cranks I have dealt with over the years, there is a wire c clip holding it on. Push the door panel away from the handle. Look down at the base of the handle between the disk of the handle and the door panel. 180 Degrees away from the handle will be a groove in the exposed shank, and you'll see the wire clip. A hook made from a piece of coathangar wire can be used to snag and remove the clip. Watch out, clip may go flying! Pull and wiggle the handle and it should then come off the splined shaft. Reinstallation is easy - put clip back in groove in handle, place handle on shaft in desired position, and thunk it a good one with the palm of your hand. Should pop right on.
