Just bought a Campbell Hausfeld model MP3311 HVLP spray gun. I have a Sears Craftsman (5 HP 25 Gallon Tank, 9.1 SCFM at 40PSI and 7.1 SCFM at 90PSI). I know I am probably at the Minimum Requirement for the HVLP. It dosen't have very defined instructions or requirements on the sprayer. My question is this, what should I set the regulator to for best results.

I don't think you're at the minimum requirement. I have a 2.5 HP portable compressor. It works just fine. But to get to your question: I've ben spraying at 40 psi (enamels). works the best for me...a pace that is comfortable, not haried, not slow...but I need to move it at a steady pace. Of course, thinning it correctly to the gun helps, and distance from the part being sprayed determines quality of paint appication too.

If you keep the regulator set below 20# you won't have near the problems with overspray. I have two HVLP guns and one I use at 15 psi for flat surfaces and the other one has to be at 20 psi to do the same job. Cut and try on something that don't matter. You will love your new spray gun.
