Anyone know which harbor freight 20 ton press is better, the A frame or the other square one? They are both 20 ton presses and I'm not sure what the difference between them are. Anyone have some input?

Thanks,
Bill

I purchased one of the H frame press from Harbor Freight, a couple of years ago. The H frame weight was heavier and I thought stronger due to the weight(I think they were the same price back then). I really only needed a 10 ton press and purchased the 20 because I didn't want to break it. The H frame looked like it would accept more types of replacement hydraulic pumps in the future. Check the weight and I would get the heavest(hopefully strongest).

I was able to chipped one corner(small) of the sand cast press plates during use. The frame is holding up well, though I have only used it around 10 times.

Bill , I know the 2 you are talking about. I like the looks of the "A" frame one. But as I studied it and read the add more carefully , It does not have the room for bigger projects like the squared off one has. So , even though I like the "A" frame looks , I guess I would buy the other one.

Not sure which ones you are looking at, but usually the "square frame" has more room for bigger objects. See if it gives the weight. I know a guy that ordered one from Snap On, site unseen. When it came in it was one of those miniture ones with a big price.
