What's a good site to get help with Windows XP? I'm unable to send email to posts that have "Send Email" in the heading. I get a box saying "can't perform operation because default email client not properly installed".
I've clicked the email help section, but nothing seems to be related to the problem.

What browser are you using (ie....AOL, Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.).

Internet Explorer. I've solved half the problem using tech4's advice. Now some "Wizard" wants some kind of account information, and I have no idea what to tell it. One step forward, one half step back.

If you are using Internet Explorer, go to the TOOLS menu and select Internet Options then select Programs and then in the Email program select your email program usually Outlook Express as default program. If you use a different email program select that. Are you having any other problems sending email? Also are you running a firewall or anti virus with a firewall that maybe blocking your email from a web site?

Thanks, tech4. I now have the email box appear, but when I hit the send button the wizard wants my name, email address and three other boxes to be filled out. The first box says "Incoming Mail Server", has a drop down list of POP, IMAP, and HTTP. No idea which to use.
The next box says "Incoming Mail(POP, IMAP, HTTP) Server. No idea here either.
Third box says "Outgoing Mail(STMP) Server"
How do I find out what this all means???

I looked at your email address and I think you are using a web based email account instead of a pop3 ISP provided email. Depending on your web based account you may not be able to set as default email account. I have put a link to the SBC email site below and you can try to follow the directions and get your account set up. You might need a little help on site from someone that is a little computer savy as the set up can be tricky for a first timer.

Your ISP 'should' be helpful if you call them on this. They may have a FAQ on thier site if you want to learn about it.
