Lincoln WeldanPower AC/DC Welder with Onan engine

I have a Lincoln Weldanpower unit that has a slip ring missing on the armature shaft. The unit is rated at 225 AC/210 DC amps and 6000 watts and is an 1986 model. It is powerd with a 16 horsepower Onan 2 cylinder gas engine. I am looking for where to get parts or a junk welder or where a welder junkyard might be or just the generator parts. Maybe someone out there knows of one somewhere. Also what is the best way to reinstall the slip ring and what holds it.

I"ve got a lincoln weldanpower in my garage. I picked it up a garage sale hoping to fix it, But a new engine is $1200.00 which is to much for my budget right now.

to answer your question a local lincoln dealer should be able to find the parts you want. Onan would be the ones to ask for anything on the engine..

Tuck,

Ouch!! That one has got to hurt a little!

I'm no expert, but those slip rings are usually just pressed on the shaft. But, a bad armature normally is replaced as a complete unit.

Can Lincoln help with either an armature or a complete generator unit?

Damn! I feel for you on this one.
