I am a contractor and have used air guns for
20 years. The Duo-fast air guns are really
durable. keep them oiled, they'll last for years. I also have paslode air, also good tools The paslode airless is also a great gun.

Looks like you've got some choices from the replies below but I'll give you one more to think about: DuoFast. I've used mine (325) for 10-15 years now & sure am happy with it. Comes with a lifetime warranty as well (though I'm not sure if the new ones still do). Have needed the warranty once: to replace a seal. Now, I shoot it & lube it every so often, even if I don't have a project going on, just to keep the seal from drying out.

HTH / YMMV

I've had a Stanley N80 for over 15 years and it has never failed ME. I've loaned it out twice to my father-in-law, and twice I've had to rebuild the seals. He later admitted his compressor pressure regulator fails to cut off, which made the seals in the N80 blow out.

But, both times I fixed it myself for about $25. Parts are still available.

My next air nailer will be Stanley.

I think porter cable makes the best framing nailer for the home owner. It may not be the best for a job site because the nailes are held together with paper but a home owner can take precautions so the nailes can not get wet.

Had one of those Chicago Peumatic framers from Harbor Freight. It worked fine for a while--built a couple of buildings--but when it started acting up there was no one who would work on it. Then I bought a Porter Cable full head nailer. Have had no problems and there a shops that will work on them. If I were to do it again I would get a clip head nailer--less expensive nailers and more readily available.

Some bld. inspectors will NOT pass anything framed with "clip head" nails.

My frameing nailer of choise is the "Pasalode airless"!! NO hoses to pull along all the time, and NO compressor to set up!! In the last couple years i've owned it, i've used mine a lot, and along with two of my brothers who also them, we have had NO problems to date with any of them! Robert

I was in at the girlfriends son's house the other day and she showed me an xray of his arm with what looked like a 16 penny nail in it...just said the nailgun jammed with FIL and he was tinkering with it. Said if he hadn't had arm up...it would have went in his chest. Porter Cable makes real good tools...just be careful which ever one you buy. Fred OH

Porter Cable are high quality tools. I try to buy mostly PC. PC is owned by Pentar, the company that owns Delta woodworking tools. I have thier oil lubed 4 hp compressor and plan to pick up a PC brad nailer soon.

I don't know too much about the Porter-Cable. I have a Bostich myself. Make sure that the nails are available when you need them. That's the reason I went with the Bostich. Most every place has their nails, and at a good price. John
