Where can I buy 1"-8 Left hand thread nuts individually? Need about half a dozen to fix tractor hydraulic levellers. Tried MSC but they only want to sell a box of 100 which is too much $$.

Go over on the Chaski machine shop board and place them up for bid shipped to your zip code...seems some of them are always looking for machine work. Specify that threads may be single pointed as long as they have a decent class fit. probably 1 1/2" hex stock as wrench sizes are usually 1 1/2 times thread diameter. Fred OH

I bought some 1/2" at the local Ace Hardware. They had larger sizes, but I didn't notice if they went to 1" or not.

Hey Mike, try McMaster-Carr. Their part number for your nut in a Gr5 zinc plated is 90570A038, and is priced at $5.48ea. Here's a link to their sight.

Mike, what about buying a tap and making them? For the McMaster price plus shipping on 6 nuts you may be able to buy a tap? I know you will need some hex stock or a frined with a milling machine and index head, or som such. In fact if you know someone with a lathe they could cut the thread for you.

Fastenall Co. could probably get them, but you may need an account there to buy anything and sometimes they have a minimum order.

Maybe it's just certain stores that do that. I needed a bag of cable ties one time and the counter man told me they had a $25 minimum purchase. I told him to forget it and went to NAPA.

Some places just don't need business from the small customers, I guess.
