I bought a used 250 Ford PU and the emergency brake needs adjusting, but the likeage is not like what is in the book,it doesn't have an adjusting nut at the equalizer bracket, nor anywhere else I can see. How do you adjust the darn thing?

Tim, I don't know how many times I've had people complain about the ebrake and want me to adjust it when the real problem was the rear service brakes out of adjustment. Double check them before ebrake adjustment every time.

Dont know what year you got, but 94's had the equalizer on outside of dvr side frame and has an adjustment there.

Thanks for the reply Mac. It's a '93 and the equalizer is located where you described, but I had a truck machanic that works on a lot of Fords
look at it and he couldn't see an adjustment.

I dunno Tim, looked at a picture 93-94. Shows what appears to be a self locking(nyloc) nut on the back side of equalizer between the 2 rear cables. Rear cables appear to have a ball on the ends that go into slots on the equalizer. Adj. bolt seems to be maybe 2" or so long. Years ago, there was also a yoke on the parking brake itself that you could adjust, but "I think" they quit using that feature.
