Have an 1 1/4 driven shallow well that my renter has been having trouble with blasts of air in the use of the water. I found that the air had leaked out of the bladder on the pump and had filled with water instead of air--usually this will I think be a water logged situation where the pump comes one everytime you get a drink of water. It didn't do that but would give sudden bursts of air to where it would knock a glass out of their hands. Is this condition because of the loss of air in the bladder????

Hi lenray,

Usually a busted bladder will just short cycle the pump as it has no air left over, hence the water logged pump.

I would be looking for a suction air leak in the piping.

Air will rise to the highest point in a water system and collect there, then hyraulic out when the facet is opened.

You might also have three problems, one being the bladder tank and one being a bad pressure controller and one being a suction leak.

That gets fun doesn't it, when several things are wrong at once? Think you fix something, & it still gives problems....

Remember my wood water boiler furnace with the weeping crack?

That front pannel must have gotten some real odd stresses - cracked in half a couple weeks ago, away from the original weeper.
