Sandblaster tips- sizes?

Is there a standard sandblasting tip for most sandblasters? My taiwanese unit (similar to the Harbor Freight units) has worn out the tips that came with it. I see that there are tips I can buy from Tool Crib, TIP, tools-plus, etc, but I don't know if they will fit.

Also, I have been using it at 110 psi, and I saw a post that said you should limit blast pressure to 80 psi. Perhaps this is why my tips wear out so quickly?

Take the tips to a machine shop or autoparts store and see if they can measure them and determine the thread gauge (if they have a thread). Give TIPP a call and see if they have one that will match it. If not, have a machine shop make an adapter to use a standard size tip.

The tips wear out because of abrasive wear. The material the tip is made of determines the wear rate. Ceramic or carbide will give the longest wear (and of course, cost more). Standard steel tips will wear the fastest.
