I have a Homelite St-155 with the ZAMA carburetor. It turns over but it dies after a few seconds. Plug is new, new fuel lines, all screws have been tightened, and new gas. Anyone know what the problem could be.

If you have a hole in primer, that is a cause of it, you also will need to rebuild carb, put in a diaphram/gasket kit. You are not pumping enough fuel for it to run because your diaphrams are getting hard from possibly using alcohal fuel. Put a new bulb, diphram/gasket kit, spark plug, take the low and hi speed needle out, clean orifice, start, run, adjust, should solve your problem

What kind of fuel filter does it have? If it is one of those in-the-tank white round ones about 5/8" in diameter either clean by reverse flushing with carb cleaner or replace it.

I didn't notice any filter. There are two fuel lines going into two holes in the tank.

The filter is on a weighted bob on the end of the line inside the tank.

First, check the spark screen in the muffler. If it's clogged,e ither clean it or toss it. If that doesn't work, rebuild the carb. It's getting to be the age where it needs it. These are inexpensive trimmers, but are quite reliable most of the time.

I checked spark screen and it looks ok.

I found a hole in the prime bulb, would that cause the problem.

A hole in he primer bulb would cause gas to leak when you primed it. I doubt it would cause it to die after a few seconds, but it needs replacing anyway. Rebuild the carb as the next step. A kit is just a few bucks, plus you's need a primer bulb.
