Does fiberglass resin or hardener go bad with age?

Yesterday I was repairing a crack in the hood of my lawn tractor, and used some fiberglass resin and hardener that had been sitting on the shelf for a few years. As of this morning (18 hours later) it still doesn't show any sign of setting up. It was mixed per the directions on the package, 14 drops hardener per ounce of resin. Does this stuff go bad with age, just sitting on the shelf? If so, which of the two go bad, or do they both? Thanks!

Yes hardener should be fresh. The resin doesn't go bad.
