O.T. Plumbing Question [Problem]

In a shop building we are using,when they set the plumbing,and poured conceret floor there was no vent installed for the toliet.Why I don't know, the toilet flushes poorly at best.I'm sure someone has had this happen before. Except busting the floor,can someone tell me a fix or trick to make it work? Thank you.

Are you sure you have a 2 inch glazed trap toilet? The cheaper toilets have a smaller trap and this combined with the 1.6 gal rule makes them hard to flush in some situations.
The vent is usally instaled on a sink nearby. Is the toilet near the edge of building? Pipes under a slab can be accessed by digging out from edge of slab. VERY VERY BIG JOB!!!

Has the toilet flushed poorly since it was installed, or did it start recently? I believe the distance from toilet flange to vent can be up to 5' with 4" pipe. This applies to raised foundations: not sure if it works the same for slab floor.

Only trick I can think of would be a 'mechanical vent'. They sell them at Lowe's and Home Depot type places. It's a glue joint PVC fitting. They are code approved in some locations. If it were me, I'd bust the floor up and run a vent up the nearest wall. Minimum size for toilet is 2". There are a lot of code considerations when dealing with waste and venting. It may be well worth your while to hire a reputable plumber and let him handle it. I'm not a big fan of those mechanical vents.

Is there a sink nearby? Does the sink trap gurgle when comode is flushed. If yes disconnect the sink trap and see if comode flushes better. If flushes better then connect a vent to the sink drain as it should be somewhat above floor or in wall.

Seen guys go on the outside, next to building and install a 2" PVC upright in the line. Seemed to work OK, but I dont know about the codes.

If they used 4" for the soil pipe, you might not need a vent, specially with the "low gallon" flush now a days. A 3" won't flush properly without a vent.

Not sure how to get a vent in if it's needed.

I relplace the line to a closet bathroom couple years ago (old toilet..full gallonage flush). About 17 feet worth. It had 4" cast, never had flushing problems without a vent. Replaced it with 3" PVC and had to add in a vent to get it to flush properly.
