I'm looking for any information on a hand crank,
automatic feed, post drill. It was made by Western
Hardware & Specialty MFG. CO. in Milwaukee, Wisc.
I was given it after my uncles death.I have the original instructions tag that came with it, but it doesn't really give much information.I'd also like to find out what size chuck it came with. Any
help will be much appreciated.Thanks

these big hand crank drills are great if they are all there, most used a brace type chuck, using square shank bits, many were converted to an ordinary one half in. chuck. have even seen a few converters, a half inch chuck on a square shank making ordinary round bits usable. Have only seen one, and it was 6ft tall that used machine shop bits round with a shoulder. if you need a chuck period, don't forget to search the junk bins at the local antique mall/shops. old tools seem to be getting more plentiful, around here anyway. find out what size thread the shaft is and go from there.
