I have only used my saw one time now when i started it.. gobs of oil were coming out by the chain. can you spray these off like a lawn mower after they cool? as you can tell this is my first chain saw..

You probably have a smaller chain saw that oils chain by pressurizing oil tank. When you put it away the tank still has pressure & oil seeps. You can release the pressure on the tank by opening cap. I wouldn't clean except to blow chips off with compressed air, clean air filter. Dump fuel & run carb dry for storage over 90 days. When its not oiling is the time to do something. Hope this helps & read "kick back" in your manual. That can put the blade in your face without warning. Dennis1
