Hi I just orderd a torch set and I would like to now what 2 tip sizes do you recomend that I get for Brazing and cutting Thanks Rod

Rod,

numbers for victor that are good for most are

#0 and #2 ,sure is nice to have a #00 and a

#1 . I also have A 3 and a 5 , #5 will cut

1 1/2 X 6 the 6 inch way with no trouble .

You know Rod, its been so long since I bought it and it is at a farm out of town, I don,t remember. Mark sounds good. I think I have about the next larger than the smallest. I would think that and one about two sizes bigger (good for heating). I know, not much help. Like Marks says adjust flame different than acet.

I hope you ordered a Harris type F torch, these are the only ones I have found that work well with LP. Tried a host of others and none of them came close to the performance I get from the Harris. I use NTT (National Torch Tip) brand #2 for everything. Adjust the flame hard for cutting, soft for brazing and medium for scarfing. Takes some getting used to since the flame looks very different from that of acetylene. Bright blue flame is on the soft (cold side) and good for brazing while a pale blue almost invisible flame is best for cutting. Right in the middle of these two is best for scarfing, not too aggressive yet hot enough to move things along.

Thanks Mark for the tips. I didn't order the Harris F because I wont to have the Acetylene capability's if kneaded.I'm shire the Harris is the way to go for LP. Victor has a Strong hold in this area sow I hope I can get parts essayer with a victor setup Thanks Rod

Actually I have people tell me the Harris F works just fine with acet as well, once you change the tip, but I have not tried myself so I cannot give a thumbs up or down on this one.
