Hi, I wonder if someone could tell me how to adjust the carburator on the subject chain saw. I lost the manual. It has two needle jets and a wider needle adjustment. Thanks

Hi paul, Bob gave you some good advice. When adjusting my Huskys I go between 1 and 1-1/4 on the low, and 3/4 and 1 on the high.

Unless you have just replaced the diaphragms, adjusting the carb is a lost cause. More likely the diph.need replacing. The two smaller are the hi & lo...about 1 full turn out... the large one is the idle adj. Comntact me with the carb mfgr if you need a kit

like he says, one full turn out, start saw & fine tune while running. Hi speed - no less than 1 turn out or you will make it too lean & piston will not get enuff lubrication & burn up, ruining cylinder. Lo speed- adjust so when you back off trigger saw idles down but keeps running (at idle). 3rd(idle adjust screw) - runs at idle but chain stops turning. Too many people ignore 3rd & let chain run all the time. This is DANGEROUS & not meant to be. You want saw to idle, respond instantly when trigger is pulled, then idle down, stay running & chain stop turning when you let off.

If you saw has an adustable high speed jet it will be the higher on in the slot where the choke lever moves. The low speed jet is the lower screw. Some were made with fixed high speed jets. The larger screw to the right edge of the plastic snap in cover is the idle speed adjustment.

I think the big one is for adjusting the amount of oil to the bar, one will be for low speed idle, and the other is for high speed, wide open throttle, It's been too many years since I ran one, and I don't have the manual anymore.
