Paid a buck for a bin with a hose and spray gun looking thing today.. It is labeled "Sears" sand blaster. (thing looks like a urinal from a port-a-potty) Were do I get sand and how do I use it?

beware of "silicosis" I think thats how to spell it. use a resperator. the pros use fresh air supply,like for painting toxic paint. there are other blasting media available.

I use a blasting product called black beauty. is is the left overs from some refining process, and cost me $3 for 100 ounds. it is not silica based, so there is no concern for sicosis. it also doesn't make as much dust, and removes rust much better than sand.

Yes, I should have mentioned it myself, you need a respirator equipped with filters that are rated for what you will be doing, plus at least a full face shield, a sandblasting hood is even better, not to mention protective gloves, long sleeves, and long pants.

Go to your local building center and get a bag or two of silica sand.

Did you get the blaster at the sale on canning

house road ? Clarks in dublin has sand , stop in

while you are in delta and I'll show you one .

Yep. I guess it will be Brenneman's last consignment sale. Heard he sold out and is moving to West VA. Got three neighbor's asked to borrow it already. Where in Delta?

Actually in md by about 1000 ft , out behind slateville church on prospect rd . # is 4437 prospect rd . orange mailbox

easier to get here from 136 , two miles up and

on the right

I bought the 175A michigan loader there last winter after the big snow , the one with the cab and 12 ft Vee blade .
