Elect impact is the handiest thing ever when you don't wanna drag out air hose etc for a quick job. I would strongly advise against the cheaper ones. HF, homier etc are pretty much not gonna last long. Pay more for a Craftsman, Milwaukee, Dewalt and it should last a lifetime of occasional use. I have a Jepson that has lasted many years but I bought a HF one that made it about 4 uses, now it is in the dump. When the Jepson goes, it will be replaced by the best I can buy.

My Craftsman is at least 35 years old, used just occasionally. Never a problem. Today's model probably would not be identical, but could be just as good.

Hi I had one from HF and it lasted for 11 years of occasional use. Then the hammer part decided to blowup (last weekend)well worth $50. I wouldn't pay anymore for one. Homier and HF I think still have then on sale for about $50

I've heard that some guys like the Milwaukee. I am a pro carpenter working for a residential/ light commercial contractor and we have a Porter Cable that has been excellent. I personally own a "Chuck Homier special" that cost about forty bucks. That thing could puke it's guts tomorrow and it wouldn't owe me anything. I've worked it hard for two years on tractor/truck work without a problem.

Delbert; I got one from Harbor Freight, 1/2" drive, paid around $70 for it. Used it to drive 4" lag screws thru 2/6's for a fence. The 2/6's were pre-drilled, but the RR ties were not. Did a fine job on about 40 screws, then it had a batch of "PUPS", so finished up with my air guns. They make good ones, but mine wasn't one of them. Will buy better quality next time, (you get what you pay for)

have a Milwakee and have used it quite a lot last 12 years and have no complaints but is ind type but would spend the bucks again. If you have a Grainger store you can check with them to check prices
