I need a large snap ring pliers. I borrowed one and it says Waldes Truaro on the pliers. Does anyone know how to contact this company? Does anyone know where I can buy one like it? It is 15 1/2 inches long. I went to search with the word Waldes and everything comes up German, I think.

Bill:
Go to McMaster-Carr Industrial Supply at www.mcmaster.com
Search words 'snap ring pliers'. Three pages of retaining ring pliers there. First page had pliers up to 6" shaft diameter. Priced in the $30 to $40 range. Lots more to choose from. They take credit cards & deliver next day.

McMaster-Carr stuff is mostly U.S.A. made. Much better qulity than Post & Harbor Freight. They will also tell you the brand name and origin.

a place that specializes in selling industrial bearings and related stuff would either have something or be able to get one for you

snap-on Mac tools and Matco usually carry the really big pliers, transmission shops need them for disassembly. ask a mechanic at a dealership when the tool trucks stop by. they won't be real cheap but this is a place where a cheap tool will only ruin your day.
