Homelite Chain Brake Band (Help!)

The chain brake band on my Homelite Timberman has become misshapen to the extent that the fly-wheel will not turn properly with the brake disengaged. If I pull back the brake handle past it's normal stress point, the band becomes large enough to allow the wheel to turn properly. I've disassembled to the point where I could slip the band off easily over the wheel, but how do you remove the band from inside/under the chain brake lever? Someone please help. No one seems to want to service this product in my area. Thanks!

There is a (#8-16x .320) screw holding the top of the band to the link that attaches to the Hand Guard. I have the illustrated PARTS LIST available that should be of help in maintaining your saw. Also any part for your HOMELITE.
Thanks
Bill

Thanks Bill. I see the screw. Question is - Do I need to remove the hand gaurd to get to it, or give it a try with it on? P.S. - I'll keep you in mind when I need a part.
Thanks again for the reply.
Sheldon
