I'm going to heat with coal this winter. I'd like to put a coal unit in my basement. Any ideas? , Name brands? Stove , furnace , boiler? Anyone have a nice one for sale? I may be interested. I've heated with coal in the past ( different house).

Gas and oil are not getting cheaper. In a 50 mile radius around one Pennsylvania town there is a 400 year reserve for the entire US at current usage. Coal is cheap and burns clean in new stoves. A stoker is very little fuss.

I agree with Arthur. Unless you live in a coal mining area, you will most likely find it difficult to find fuel. This is something to take into consideration before you spend big $ on a new stove.

United States Stove Company in Chattanooga,Tn. I bought one about 10 years ago. Mine is a Hotblast 1300, does a pretty good job. I use coal and wood. What I like about it is you can put in 22-24 inch lengths of wood. This company has been in business forever.
