I was reading a post that mentioned wobble sockets for an impact wrench. What are they?

Take a look at Proto, they make a pinless universal that really holds up to abuse.

Canadian Tire sells the ratchet-type in a 3- or 4-pack, not sure which one. Don't know if they're strong enough for an impact-gun, though.

They are flex-sockets that use a ball type universal joint instead of the hinged square coupling used on the ones made for hand use.

Just by way of clarification, the ball-type universal allows the socket to be turned with the drive (be it impact wrench or ratchet) at nearly any angle to the socket. Very handy in some situations. The square-type universal will flop over and bind just when you need it the most.

Thanks for the info. Somehow I have never seen those in my area of BC. I'll have to look for that.

Grey Tools carry this item under the heading of "Universal Joint". Lifetime warranty, most cities in Canada have a distrubutor. Grey tools do not have as big a variation as Snap-on, however they are less expensive and good quality.Located in Brampton Ont. Fax: 1 800- 264-6977 and they should be able to give you thier nearest sales place.
