Is Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor OK?

I'm looking at a CH compressor @ the local Lowes Home Imp. It's belt driven with two cylinder cast iron pump. The unit has the cfm required for my intended occasional uses, but how is CH quality/dependability compared to others- will it hold up? It says it's US made and has a 3 yr. warranty. Priced @ $347 btw. Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

Isolation pads for under compressor legs to prevent vibration etc. Use hockey pucks with a hole in center, Work great.

I got one, bought it about 10 years ago, 4 horse power, 115/220 volt, depending on how you wire it. Love it, it's quiet! Havn't had a lick of problems with it. I'd buy another but I don't think this one will wear out anytime soon.

Hi Dan. I have had one for a good five years. I don't use it every day maybe five hours a week. No problems at all. Don't forget to drain the moisture out of it very regular. Archie

All compressors should be isolated for vibrations ( so the feet don't wiggle and crack the tank ) and anchored to the floor or concrete pad if installed outside the shop. There should also be a flexible connection from the main air connection to the copper ( don't use plastic, as it can rupture - very dangerous ) distribution lines.

Dan I run a metal shop and started out with top name compressers in the 750.00-950.00 range all the pumps lasted around 3 years and el. motors about 1 year .In 96 I went to home depot and got the belt drive cast iron CH 6 hp for 399.00 thinking I can buy a new one every year and come out better off with no down time. The first one lasted until 2000 and the second one is still running great and if it flyes apart monday when I open I buy another.

I have one that I use daily (often for an hour or two)that I have had since 1993. It still runs great.

Man I hope you guys a right.Last year I bought a C-H 7.5hp 2stage because of the name/reputation and the first thing I had to do was replace the motor because of a bad base luckily it was not a problem, the service center guy was great to work with on getting it fixed.Since then I have been real happy and it puts out air like nobodys business.
BTW be sure to ask about isolation pads to put under the feet,mine walked about two feet from the time I hit the breaker and walked 30ft to where the compressor is without them.
