Is there any way that a sheet of 1/8 inch plexiglass can be bent at a 90 angle without breaking it? A project that I am working on needs it. Thanks

320 degrees fahrenheit is the manufacturers recommended temperature for forming plexiglass. Heat it in a convection oven and you can pretty much form it any way you want. At that temperature the material will also pick up marks from tools and fixtures so you may want to back off 20 or 25 degrees for best results. I have formed this material into all kinds of precise shapes using this method.
Good luck

IF YOU WANT A QUALITY LOOKING JOB DO NOT USE A
HEAT GUN TORCH OR OVEN. YOU CAN USE A STRAIT CALROD OR NICROME WIRE . TO HEAT MATERAIL
YOU NEED ABOUT 300 DEGREES. MOST PLASTIC SUPPLY HOUSES CAN DO IN ABOUT FIVE MIN.

Tom,

I have bent a lot of plexy in my time. Buy a heat strip element from any plexy glass supply house. I set my strip into a routed piece of wood and lay the glass on top where the bend should be. Heat and bend when soft. Do not use a torch, it will screw up. Be careful of the wood chatching on fire,

Bill

Bill,

I have had excellent results doing it as you
described. Used to bend on a limited production
basis this way. After it was hot it was put on
a jig that had the exact angle I needed. It was
left there until it was cold.

Best way way I know of!

You can bend it if you evenly heat it along the bend area. A hot air gun works the best, keep it moving back and forth along the bend line untill it gets a bit soft. not too soft though.

I use a heat gun. Lay plexiglas over a peace of angle iron, held flat in a vise, heat evenly and then use an piece of wood to work it into a nice sharp bend.
