I was just on the Stihl home page and saw a thing for Stihl fuel. Is this stuf not gas? Does it have a better shelf life than gas? What about cost, how much more expensive is it?

I thought it might be a good way for me to buy mixed gas since the only thing that I have that takes mixed gas is my FS 85 trimmer and I would only use about 1 gallon per year.

Let me know your thoughts.

Haven't dealt with it at all. Seems to be European commodity.

well im not sure if im the guy your looking for but i did go thru the stihl tech training a few years ago when i worked for a dealership, i remember the premixed fuel being mentioned, but i believe it was only available in eupore and othe places like that, dont think it was for the us market. to the best of my knowledge it is basicly just gas mixed with oil and fuel stabilizer added, probably because in some countrys they are formulating gasoline differently these days and the road gas may not be the right octane or whatever for the 2 stroke stihl stuff, but i could be wrong on all of this since my info was from a few years ago and they only mentioned it a bit in the course, but things may have changed in the past few years. the whole time i worked in the dealership we sold lotsa 2stroke oil, but never any premixed gas.

heard that in Europe that they sell premixed gas, because it is a higher octane fuel but the fuel/oil mix is somewhere around 75-100:1 mix. It also was selling for 5-6 dollars a gallon. Again that was also 4-5 years ago.
