have you ever noticed when some one has a question on a particular tractor, tool, chainsaw, oil.....
people get real defensive of what they use, there past experiance or lack of

isn't it great

Have you ever applied your statment to many things in our lives--religon ---others are wrong --should see it our way ---join my church----I strongly believe in my religion probably because grandpa was a member of my religion??? Then of the way we must change other countries way of doing things ----- -----because we know best... WHAT WE think of uncivilized cultures that had tiger teeth, war paint etc. LOOK AT US ---- MY suit cost more than yours, my wife puts on a base before appliying her war paint. Tiger teeth sure as heck would be cheaper than what she uses. HER WAR PAINT IS PURCHASED FROM A COMPANY THAT MAKES BILLIONS so --IT HAS TO BE THE RIGHT WAR PAINT. We must kill the others in our world to keep peace. We in the USA just over threw another government, and now others are building up their weapons to ward off the agressions of the US. ( I certianly predict some evidence of my statments by the oncoming steamed replies to some of the topics I just brought up) WE are humans, so lets face it--we all have opinions that are right----others are wrong----I already have my mind made up so don't try to confuse me with the real facts !!!! ( SMILE INSTEAD OF SHAKING YOUR FIST AND YOUR NEIGHBORS WILL TURN OUT TO BE BETTER THAN YOU THOUGHT THEY COULD BE !!) We are simply a product of our enviorment.

I think people are mostly loyal to what they own even if they know it isn't the best. It is just hard to swallow that you might have bought an inferior product and cannot get your money back etc. I have been through that product loyalty but in the last years have totally switched some loyalties that I was gung ho about. Switched truck mfg, tractor mfg (still antiques), boots, car....on and on. It is great to be loyal but with experience and gained knowledge, it is easier to jump ship when you see someone else making a better product. To me it is as simple as getting the best for your hard earned money. Most of these mfgs seem to care less if you come back or not anyway. Why be loyal to them? Now one and the only mfg that I still don't think I will ever abandon is my welder mfg.

Yah, it kind of kills me when someone refuses to see that their favorite brand might not be perfect. Don't get me wrong I have brands that I am loyal to and if someone was WRONGLY slamming them then yes I will stick up for them. But some guys just think that the manufacturer hung the moon.

I like to get these guys into heated discussions then just leave. They are all hot and bothered and I am walking away laughing.

Lets be realistic, if any manufacturer built the PERFECT anything for all ocasions and all users then they would have all the business. But since there is no such product then that is why we have competition.

Oh Yeah?!!!! I WAS a die-hard GM fan until I owned a 92 GMC Jimmy, fell flat on my bragging nose on that one. Even hiding the embarassment with flimsy excuses did not cover up the fact that it spent more time in the shop than ANY vehicle should (dealer so-so, truck P.O.S.). The cost to me in cash and face wasn't worth the purchase price. I WOULD HAVE bought a new GM truck, but couldn't stomach the pain of seeing another one on the lift. In short, you're right about folks being brand defensive, I WAS one of them, now I am content fading into the scenery of the quietly disgruntled and estranged. Next time brand loyalty won't be an issue. Dodge is looking better at the moment.

I own three GM vehicles and I seem to have pretty good luck with them. I think Ford trucks are mechanically better but around here they seem to have serious rust problems. IMHO it would be nice to have a Chevy truck with ford running gear. Course my father was always a dodge guy. He would always say that a Dodge was a POS when you drove it of the lot but you would still be driving that pos 250,000 miles later
