My brother-in-law has a Ford Select O Speed and he can not find the plate with the serial number on it.
Can anyone tell me where it might be?
Thank you,
Elmer

Picture of the serial number location. It isn't a plate. The serial number is stamped into the flat. Format is model designation above or below sequential production number.

I'm picking an 801 tractor that I just purchased this week on Friday 9-11-98.If nobody answers before then, I'll find out for you. I also have the service manual, it might tell where.I have an 850 tractor and it is stamped on the transmission case just behind the engine on a ledge that sticks out..You are talking about the tractor's serial number aren't you?

Yes Herb, we need to know the serial number of the tractor. We will try looking on the transmission case as you stated. Thank you and if you find out more, I would appreciate your help.

On my 850 the serial number is directly above the starter on the left side (while you are facing forward in the seat)and is stamped in the transmission case. you may have to clean that ledge to read it. The serial number will be directly under the model 801 number. My manual says this is where it is on all 600 and 800 series tractors.Good luck!
