Does any one here have any idea of what scrap carbide tool bits are worth, and who might be interested in buying it?
These are mostly the replaceable tool bits for shell mills, etc.
I think it is called cemented carbide.

Try taking it to your local scrap yard. If what you have is "pure" ie- just the replacable inserts and not the ones that are soldered to a holder, then they are worth a good bit just at scrap price. If they are used, then scrap is all they are good for anyway. We took some in about 2 years ago. What we had was 1/2 a 5 gallon bucket full, and it was worth over $200.... 1/2 a bucket full was worth almost 4 times what the whole truck load of other scrap we took was worth.

Need more info...

What size are they?

How many are there?

Can they be resharpened? (I used to work in a machine shop and we sharpened our cutters for a boring machine and a milling machine on a specialized diamond wheel)

How hard were they used (did they get hot)?

What kind of metal (or other material) were they used on?

As I stated, these are scrap, not reuseable, I have several pounds of it, and was curious as to what the value is per pound.
I know there is a market for it, just don't know who, or where.
