ANYONE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THE 4 CYCLE 26CC ENGINE? DO THEY START AND RUN GOOD? ANY CONTUINING MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS?

I musta got the Lemon prize- my Ryobi 990r 18" 4cycle didn't work from day one. 2 factory warranty repairs didn't fix. After a year of cussing it, I bought a Stihl that I think I'll marry. {BTW, I have Ryobi cordless drills & saws that work great and would buy again.}

Have had a Ryobi 970r for 4 years that I like pretty well, but still use my 15 year old Weedeater XR20 most of the time. It's lighter and does just as good a job.

I've been using this trimmer for over five years. I got it at lowes. It's wonderful. Slightly heavier than many of the two strokes but not really noticeable. Runs beautifully. The more hours I put on it the smoother and quieter it seems to get

I have two of them. I have had the 990r for three summers now and I love it. I have a newer one that I use for a brush cutter. My father inlaw has had one for a couple of years and he likes his also. Mine start and run good. I have replaced the string head on one but everything else keeps on ticking. They are quieter and not having to mix gas and worry about fouling plugs is nice.

I have a straight shaft as well as the blower vac attachment and it works great. Runs about 4 times longer on a tank of gas than a two-stroke. tourqy too. The first run of them were junk, they had bushed lower ends but 3 years old and newer ones are ballbearing and work great. Just watch the oil level.
