I've got an electric-over-hydraulic Northern Hydraulics scissors lift under the box on my 89 Chevy K3500 1 ton truck.

After 10 years of use and abuse, one of the welds on the hoist broke, so I spent the morning taking the box off to get at things and repair it.

The rear of the hoist bolts to the frame crossmember just behind the gas tank, with a brace running to a lighter crossmember just behind the cab. This brace is bent, which allowed the hoist to tip down towards the rear, and has twisted the crossmember somewhat.

What are the chances that I'll be able to straighten it? I'm guessing this is probably a high strength steel of some sort.

The world won't grind to a halt if I can't straighten it, but I'd like to fix it right while I've got it apart.

This might work.Try heating it with your torch and then have the BFH to do the adjustments. After the adjustments weld some reinforements to help hold it straight and reinforce every thing. If that dont work try making a new pice you have a patteren to go by. Remember to over build it is the Tailer way
