Got me a makita impact driver the other night. I had been looking at them for a while, mostly dewalt. Well home depot had this onel, last one too, and i went ahead and got it. The impact is the same principle as an air wrench only with a cordless drill motor attached. It works better than an 18 volt for driving screws od any size, but is only a 12 volt which means it is lighter. It works good at tightening and loosening small bolts. A bit pricey at 200$ But i must say it was a good investment, and it well see use atlest once a day for something.. And too i figured the dewalt had a bit more torque, but i felt the makita had a slight edge in feel and quaity.. So first, what do ya think about makita cordless?? And secondly what ya think about these impact drivers??

Thanks guys!!

I have a 12 volt Hitachi cordless impact, love it to death!!!!! !!!! It is the greatest tool inside the cab of a machine as the dust isn`t blowing everywhere when removing panels and such. As far as price, I`m not sure how much it is, got mine courtesy of Hitachi.

I have a couple buddies that are mechanics, they have the snap-on cordless impacts, 3/8 and 1/2 drive. They also race fourwheelers, and nothing beats a cordless impact for changin tires or tearin down a quad between races.

Have 6 or 7 Makita cordless tools. All have been top notch, built very well. Have used others and like the Makita products.

I have an old 9V model and it's very handy at times. I use mine for small jobs like lawn mower blade removal etc. They are not made to replace heavier air powered or 120VAC units.
