We are thinking of trading our truck off at work with a 7 1/2 foot Meyers plow on it. When we were talking to the dealer about a new truck and plow he told us about Western Plows, said they were much easier to hook up than Meyers. Has anyone had any experience with the Western plows? Any feed back on this would be appreciated. We have been very happy with our Meyers.. Thank you for any help on this.....Binder-Man

I have an old Meyer - got it for $100 at a yard sale: had to build my own mount, lift, etc. Works well. HOWEVER, it has been my observation that Western has more curve to the blade, and rolls the snow over better than the Meyer. Mine just kinda piles up in front of the blade! I did put a heavy industrial flat belt across the top, which hangs down over the front - this helps control the snow flow some. I have seen a newcomer to the plow industry that has caught my fancy, CURTISS - if you can find a dealer, take a look at them. If you'd like, email me your address, and I'll see if I can get some literature for you. (No, I have no $ interest in selling these plows.)

Do yourself a big favor & at least check out the BOSS "V" plow. I plow for a living in NW Wyoming (6 months a season) & have a Western 10'Commercial Duty & a Boss 9' V. Around here Boss out sells all the others combined - by a wide margin! In fact we hardly ever see a new Western or Meyers plow any more.

I'm not saying they aren't fine plows, but they have been out done by Boss!

I have a 6 1/2 foot Western that I really like. 2 pins, 2 hoses on couplers, and a chain to lift. Gives you up, down, right, left angles. They have some real nice ones now if you want to pay the price that do about everything. Parts are also easy to find if you ever need any. I have never needed anything.
