Have been blessed with two old boxes of Lincon ALUMA-WELD. old stuff, cardbord box has dark blue writing. 5 pounds per box. Flux is pink and kind of bubbily. Strange looking stuff. Any good anymore or just outdated? Anyone need it????? ?

Jerry...the peach colored aluminum rod can be used by knocking off about half of the flux and using it with an acetylene torch. Another idea is to put one in a DC reverse polarity welder and trying it. I think it will lay better if you preheat the parent metal some...aluminum dissipates heat quickly. The parent metal should be wire brushed clean and as some say...with a stainless steel brush...but, it is not necessary unless you have to make a super weld. Just a clean regular steel cup wire brush in the angle grinder has worked well for me for years. Just bear down on the brush so as to take off the surface oxides. L8R....Fred OH
