My Friend found a nice Power King Drill Press at a garage sale for $20.00 It's model # 611 and serial # 8131. It's a bench top model and is in very good shape, only minor surface rust on the bare metal parts. I've never heard of the brand. I'm wondering if anyone knows how old it is? Thanks.

Your power king was made around 1935-40 by the powerking tool co. bought out by atlas tool then bought out by clausing tool. Clausing might still have compatible parts, they claim to have parts going back sometime on their tools. I am looking for a step pulley for mine at the moment, can any body help?

there was a power king tool company that was mail order through popular mechanics in the 60s, saws, jointers, drills ,sanders all for around $20.

Power King Tool Corp Warsaw Indiana Mine cost me $25 at an auction go for it , well worth the $20 Put a 5/8 ID spring between the Pulley on the quill, and the collar on the top of the shaft, to keep the pulley from riding up the spline.

Type in "bench drill press" on eBay and see what it turns up. If it looks like any of those, it's the standard Chinese 5-speed. Worth about $20.

Well you didn't say how big it was or the speeds, but for $20 I wouldn't hesitate to long. If it is only a small one youcan use it for pilot holes or wood working where the speeds are higher. If it is larger and slower, all the better.
