Autobody Glue/Mastic??

Friend mentioned the other day that rather than migging or brazing the superlight sheet metal when patchin rust etc on newer vehicles,that there is now a glue used on flanged patches,Apparently fit patch,glue in,feather,fill and paint,I know for a fact this new sheet metal hates heat,and this glue is supposedly a lifetime repair,also serving to seal the edges of the patch/hole from corrosion.

I have to wonder about their definition of "lifetime". I have not found any of the lifetime lubricated sealed bearings that would last any real amount of time :)
Other than that looks ok. Never tried it though.

Ben,

Lifetime sealed bearings mean no lube for the bearings lifetime however short that may be.

That sounds like the stuff.As far as "lifetime" and mastics,windshield adhesive,body seam sealers,liquid nails,tile adhesives,epoxy fillers, etc,seem to do allright,I mean we ain't talkin edible Elmers glue here.
