My DeWalt chop saw model DW871 finally fell ill. I have admitedly abused that machine for 4 years. I have crowded it through drill stem pipe (2 5/8 and 2 7/8,) through 2 inch solid axles, solid steel up to 3 inches, angle, flats, every thing that would fit into the fence. The slot for the blade has been extended beyond the right support from crowding the blade to the right from the sheer abuse. As it is now, the motor runs perfect as ever but there is a whine from h3ll anytime it is started under no load from the bearings. What did I do? I went and bouoght another DeWalt DW871 at Tractor Supply. I looked at Home Dept and they had Milwaukee that looked like the sh*t at Harbor Freiht. I am gonna order new bearings and fix my old saw and have two. These are the best chop saws I have ever used (makita included). As for the carbon steel chop saws, I am sure Dewalt makes the best but as hared as I am on tools I would have to buy a blade a week.
