I just picked up a 5hp 50 or 60 gal compressor for $100.00 from a gas station that is selling out. The thing works but clanks. I think it's the valves. It's a Gilbert & Parker Mnfg Co. compressor built in 1963. The model is 2306-80010-13M. Serial 49986. I tried looking up the company on the web with no luck. I'm wondering where to get parts. The compressor pump itself had no markings. I wonder if it's from another manufacturer?

Richard,
Clanking? Sounds like it could be the rods/crankshaft. Hopefully all you would need would be rods or bearing inserts depending upon how your pump was made. Tear it down as soon as possible. Send me a pic if you can. I may be able to determine a parts source for you. Peter

Probably a rebadged DeVilbiss or Quincy from that era. Ford used to sell DeVilbiss compressors under the Rotunda name. If you could post a pic, it would be helpful.

I would like to know about parts myself. I have a Gilbert, with a 1959 date on the tank. My Dad got it out of a service station sometime in the mid 60's. It's been a good one, but without a rebuild, has seen it's better days.
