I'm looking at electiric cement mixers. Just how much can this dumb cracker pour with a five foot mixer? I need to place a 3" X 24" cap over a cinder block knee wall, The wall is 28' long. I'd like to do the job myself and leave the concrete company out of it. The site is not reasonably accessable to a cement truck.

Mike,
Your cap will take approx 14 cu feet. You multiple length x width x thickness to get the cu feet. In your case it is 28' x 2' x 1/4' (3" equals 1/4 foot). 28x2=56, 56x1/4=14, so you will have to pour 14 cu feet. Will need to a little more to accomodate spilage, plus how to prevent cement from running down into blocks. Hope this helps. Jim

You cap is about .51 yard of concrete. How to figure.

thickness x width x Length/27=cubic yards

27cubic feet=1 cubic yard

Everything needs to be in feet.
3"=.25'
24"=2'
.25 x 2 x 28/27=.51(half a yard)
Thats about 3 mixes in that machine.
