I have one in my truck (Ford Powerstroke), they can make a tremendous difference in a turbo diesel, gains made in a gas engine are probably hardly noticeable and generally require the use of premium fuel...

Depending what you do with your truck, they can be helpful or an expensive piece of non returnable fluff.Mfgs spend millions tuning modern vehicle and setting the computers for optimum GENERAL usage.Dealer computer can readjust these settings slightly to allow for climate, altitude etc,You need to determine a most useful parameter.Do you use truck mostly for driving empty or with light loads?Do you spend majority of time towing or under hvy loads? The chips are programmed to alter fuel delivery, ignition parameters, even automatic shift points to make the truck better at its assigned job.My opinion is that unless you are a performance driver or heavy hauler, the money would be more well spent on helping the engine breathe. This would include a Borla(or other)mfgs low restriction cat back exhaust system,K&N or other low restriction air intake filter system.Do a little research in 4Wheel&Off Road,Truckin, etc magazines. They ardently test everything that comes along and evaluate the claims made.Keep in mind that that chip you're considering only costs a few bucks to make.If they were as good as most claim in general,Mfgs/Dealers would be making the
600-700% markup on the chips, not mailorder dealers and hot rod shops.....Just MY opinions
