I acquired a used tedder recently. A couple of the springs on the arms are broken but still on the arm. What is the best way to weld these or can you weld spring steel. Just trying to save a few bucks.

Just replace them. They take so much abuse that welding isnt really an option. They will either bend at the weld or snap off because you have taken the temper out of the original spring when welding to it. They are available at TSC or other aftermarket suppliers.Set the depth in operating position, by adjusting it so the tooth just sits on the toe of your boot. Any lower you risk breaking alot of teeth, much higher, and it doesnt throw all the hay.
