Hey guys,
I have purchased one of the metal yard storage buildings from the local home center (it's a 10x14). My question is: Has anybody had any experience putting these up? Is there anything I should know before I tackle the job? I did buy the "foundation kit" and anchor kit to keep it square and tight to the ground. I also plan to put some heavy plastic on the ground underneath to protect the metal framework and the plywood floor from moisture. What else do I need to do or to know? Thanks for your help in advance. Good Luck and God Bless,
Tommy

I put together an Arrow brand building about 5 years ago (14' x 21'). I thought it would be easier than doing a simple small pole building. The one I assembled was kinda like a chinese puzzle. It definitely required two extra sets of hands to line up the pieces.

It has served its purpose and the vinyl coating is holding up well, but it was tricky to get the parts to come together and put all those little machine bolts in place. Plan on having plenty of help.

These things are very convoluted in their construction. I have one as a pump house. Has been a good little shelter. HOWEVER, when the time comes to replace it I will just build something vs. another ready made small metal shed.

Get a cordless drill or screw driver to save your forearms.

Anchor it against hi winds, keep the snow load off the roof in winter. They are nice little bldgs for storage but Ma Nature can stomp em like a beer can. They're pretty straight forward to assemble, but have a couple helpers handy and it'll go a lot easier.

Just be sure to start level and square. I hope you have a cordless drill-driver or your wrist is gonna get tired.
