While rummaging through the barn the other day looking for a piece of plywood, I came accross this old sickle grinder that I didn't even know was there, must have been my grandfather's. Any way, it is a Deering grinder that clamps to a mower wheel. It looks almost identical to the Milwakee grinder pictured in C.H. Wendel's 150 Yrs of IHC(p. 218, I think). The only difference is that this has "Deering" on the top and the final drive to the grindstone is sprocket and chain instead of gear driven. Does anyone know anything about this grinder or where I could get a drive chain for it? The sprocket tooth spacing is 3/8". thanks

You should be able to get a length of roller chain and a master link at any implement dealer.
