What safety precaution do I need to take when storing my oxy-acetalyne torch in my garage. I live in a sub division. I currently have a mig but the torch would also be handy. Any advise would be appreciated.

Hi Peter,

Stop by any gas supplier and pick up a free book on cylinder safety and torch use. Too much to list on a short post.

If you don't already have one in the area, a good ABC fire extinguisher would be a good idea. I have one attached to my cart so it goes where they do. I keep another across the room where it is stored.

Also keep oil or oilr rags and the like away. OXY reacts violently to oil.

Common sense precautions apply, mainly make sure your tanks are well secured so they can't fall or be knocked over. And turn tank valves off when not in use.
