Hi, Deano. I can't help you with the superweld -- the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia's a bit far out of Duluth for that -- but I do have a good way of cutting gaskets.Assuming that you can get to one or the other of the surfaces to which the gasket will be fitted, place your gasket paper over the surface, use either the ball end of a ball pein hammer or an old ball bearing ball to locate the various bolt holes by pressing into them and then gently tap the paper over these holes to cut it. I like the ball bearing ball for this as you can hold it in the depression and tap it with a hammer and you don't have to be quite so accurate with the hammer, always bearing in mind that your fingers are often somewhere in the same vicinity. Once you have a couple of bolt holes located and punched out, you can insert bolts to stop the gasket paper from moving. Then simply tap around the inner and outer edges of the gasket face to cut the paper to the exact shape required. If you have any doubts about getting it right, have a practice run or two with newspaper first. Where one gasket face is a flat plane as in a cover over a filter housing or similar, it is better to use the other face as the template if possible and cut the center out of the gasket as well. This reduces the possibilty of fragments of gasket paper ending up in the system. Hope this helps. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
