If you mean a McCullough then they are (or were) sold under the name "JOHN DEERE". I've got a McCoullough and do not know how to set the jets screws, do you? I need help too?

Mac went bankrupt a few years ago . Parts are pretty hard to come by . Best bet is to try your local repair shop . They probably know a lot more about if and where parts are available .

Homelite was the brand sold under the John Deere brand . The machine shop I work for used to machine crankcases for John Deere Consumer Products . We made red ones for Homelite , John Deere Yellow for John Deere , Butterscotch yellow for Atlas Copco and White for another brand sold in Europe .

There was no difference in the machining or castings between the colors . I was told by an engineer at Deere that the John Deere models used better bearings and were desingned to last about 3 times as long as the Homelite units .

John Deere sold off the Homelite line to a holding company that owns Ryobi . Most of the saws and blowers are made in Mexico .

I don't have any idea who makes the John Deere saws now .

The last ones I saw at Home Depot were still leftovers from Homelite .

By the way , we also made the End Bells for Homelite generators . This is the black casting on the end of the generator that is bolted to the gasoline engine . We made about 1/4 million of them in 1999 .

Good Luck on your search for parts !

May of 2000 i lost the coil spring that goes between the line spool and the spindle. i couldn't find a spring that would fit, there were no mcculloch dealers within 60 mi and i couldn't wait for the spring to come in the mail. a local lawnmower shop suggested getting the part from john deere as the john deere chain saws and trimmers were made by mcculloch. i went to john deere and they sold me the correct spring and for quick reference gave me the model # of the john deere trimmer. my trimmer is a mcculloch titan 2000, the john deere version is called the T 30C. the reason i can quote the date and info is, i put the john deere invoice receipt in the user manual so i could find it the next time i needed a part for my mcculloch trimmer. i still need to know how to set the jet screws cause my manual dosen't mention anything about it----Walt
