Was thinking about buying one.But the price of nails and tool itself seem kind of pricey. Just wondering about the life span of this type tool. I'm working on a remote barn on the weekends. Hauling equipment in is a major problem also lots of thefts in area. It's what I need but just would like a little input. Thanks in advance Bill

I looked at the Paslode for a year and this year i bought a Senco trim nailer, I think they make a framing nailer also.
The Senco runs on just a battery pack, no fuel.
It was about $50 cheaper than the Paslode and i got a $50 rebate and i could return it within 60 days if i didn't like it.
I bought it at the local Home Depot. Got the case, charger, and two batteries.
I am trimming out my house and it paid for it's self the first day.
I had to keep stopping and kicking myself as i remembered that i just trimmed out a house that i sold last year with hammer and nail.
When i finish with it in a few weeks i plan to sell it to a friend at work who is doing his remodeling.

I will be starting my second season with one when the weather finally decides to co-operate. The first season went great, only had one little problem with it, when nailing on a vertical surface the battery will occasionally loose contact inside and have to be reseated. It has never fallen out of the gun, but just looses contact inside.

An acquaintance is a full-time contractor and has several of them which he has been running for over five years. He has no plans to give them up. They do have their reliability problems once in a while, but he has always been able to have them repaired and back on the job in a reasonable amount of time.

When you are working by yourself, up high or in an odd position, there is just nothing like a cordless nailer. I wish my other cordless tools where as dependable as the Paslode has proven itself to be.

I've had mine a couple years now. I really like it, as at the end of the day my arm and shoulder isn't acheing from hammering all day!! Sure is nice to be able to hold a board at an odd angle or in an odd position, and put a nail in it with the other hand!! Robert

If you don't have electricity or a gas operated air compressor you may want to consider one of the LP gas fired nailers. They're somewhat smaller and easier to handle, work good and require no more maintenance than air. They do have a price though. Construction firms get about 4 years out of them under heavy use. Yours would be a lifetime purchase.

I'm in my second year using mine and find it invaluable when working by myself. I can use one hand to hold my board and one to hold my "hammer" without trying to hold the nail.

A Tip: Release the battery whenever the Paslode is going to be idle for a while. That little flashing green light in the handle will drain the battery.
